We must always honour the Holy Spirit and stay connected to Him in relationship. We simply cannot go anywhere He is not going. All too often our financial needs, our reasonings and our intellect interfere with our ability to fully follow where His presence is leading, especially when His leading does not make sense.
The quest for answers sometimes leads to a rejection of the true treasure that awaits us and can create offenses along the way.
All of us have experienced offense before. I would describe offense as that intense feeling of outrage that rises inside us when we have been insulted, emotionally injured, or have experienced injustice. Jesus taught that offense would come and there is no avoiding it. He also told Peter to forgive someone “not seven times, but seventy-seven times”. He was equipping us with the only real answer to offense. We must set our hearts daily to forgive any offense that comes our way and learn to forgive well.
Offense closes the eyes of your heart and disconnects you from His presence. You cannot see where He is going, you cannot feel where He is leading, and you end up completely out of step with Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart right now and bring to your attention anyone you are offended with and need to forgive. As He brings people to your attention, go ahead, and release them to Him by forgiving them and prayer a prayer from your heart to bless them.
As glory carriers we need to always do whatever it takes to remove anything standing in the way of our relationship with the Spirit of God. Even if the process is painful, we must not go anywhere without His presence. As you journey deeper in relationship with Him, be prepared to encounter His glory fire. This is a purifying encounter with glory and one that calls you to deep places.
