ALEX SUTHERLAND: OUR NEW DIRECTOR OF FAMILY AND YOUTH MINISTRY

The Session of the Independent Presbyterian Church has voted unanimously to call our current intern, Alex Sutherland, as our Director of Family and Youth Ministry with a path to ordination.

Alex previously served with us as a pastoral intern in 2020. Upon his completion of the Masters of Divinity from the Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia in 2023, we invited Alex to come intern with us again. With the departure of Paul Rodgers, we had an immediate need on our ministerial staff that Alex has filled seamlessly. Alex’s demeanor, character, giftings, and vision for ministry all align with what we desire in a Family and Youth Pastor.

Please welcome Alex, Jennifer, Cameron, and Charlotte (who we look to meet in late summer) and pray for him in the coming months as he prepares for his ordination exams as well as continuing the work of his new position.

For 2024, we will offer the Navigator's Book-at-a-Time Bible reading plan. Hard copies will be available on Sundays and in the church office; you can use the provided pdf as well. In the year ahead, ask God each day to speak directly to you from the Scripture portions you read. Be expectant, and let your continual exposure to God’s Word reshape your attitudes and behavior as you gain a better understanding of every part of His written testimony to us.
