I CAN WE CAN
- last exhibition hosted by Gallery Neuartig in April
As some of you may already know, I have transformed the gallery space into an eco-friendly lifestyle store called TangerineKangaroo at the end of last year.

For I CAN WE CAN I will clear out the store and hand over the space to the Arts one more time.

Lead artist Neda Moridpour, in collaboration with A Window Between Worlds (AWBW), has designed an ongoing participatory art project in conjunction with more than 400 participants throughout Los Angeles. The goal of this project it to activate the community through art to PLEDGE AND TAKE ACTION TO END ABUSE.

I CAN WE CAN

Introductory Theatre of the Oppressed Workshop @ Grand Annex

Fri, April 19, 9:30am - 12:30pm

Come learn theatrical techniques to notice your personal threshold between what you feel you can and can't do to help end abuse and take action to move that threshold! An international movement that began in Brazil in the 1970s, Theatre of the Oppressed (T.O.) is a set of ethics and embodied exercises that invite people to shift from being passive recipients of oppression to active agents in their own transformation. As the creator of Theatre of the Oppressed, Brazilian activist and director Augusto Boal, wrote, "We must all do theatre--to find out who we are, and to discover who we might become." No experience necessary!

To RSVP, please email Julianne at jgale@awbw.org
