Putting the "beach" back in Pass-a-Grille

Pinellas County is planning full nourishment of Pass-a-Grille Beach this summer. Phase 1 brings 10,000-15,000 cubic yards of sand from the Grand Canal Dredging project. Phase 2 puts about 140,000 cubic yards of sand from Pass-a-Grille inlet along the beach from 1st Avenue to 22nd Avenue and is awaiting permitting from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Sections of the beach will be closed where the work is being done, but all businesses will remain open.

Adopt a furry friend while the animal shelter is under construction

Big changes are afoot at Pinellas County Animal Services this year as we upgrade our kennels to make them more comfortable for our dogs and strengthen the buildings against hurricanes. During construction, space for adoptable dogs has been tight, but our community has come through by taking home more than 280 new furry friends since December. Adoptions are free during construction. Find your new best friend here.
