FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE


The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office Will be Closed Beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29 and all day on Wednesday, August 30 due to Hurricane Idalia.


Due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Idalia, the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office, located on the first and third floors of 515 N. Main Street in Gainesville, will be closed for business beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, and Wednesday, August 30.


The Supervisor of Elections Office anticipates reopening at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, but that decision will depend on the impacts of the storm on Alachua County.  


Voters still can register to vote and can update their voter registration information online by visiting RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov. Voters can also request a Vote-By-Mail ballot and can learn more about the upcoming General Election and voting by visiting VoteAlachua.gov.


Our office encourages the public to follow the weather updates closely and to listen to county, state, and federal guidance concerning Hurricane Idalia.
