On September 26th, Hunt County Commissioners signed a proclamation declaring the week of October 1st - 7th , 2023 as National 4-H Week. Keep reading to see what WE love about 4-H and how YOU can participate in National 4-H Week!

National 4-H Week

Today kicks off National 4-H Week! Join the celebration! It's the perfect time to showcase your 4-Her's achievements and spread the 4-H spirit!

Record Book Information

The 2023-2024 Texas 4-H Record Book Information has been posted HERE


There were NO changes for the 2023-2024 year. 

 

Categories will remain the same as 2022-2023.

Senior 4-H members who win first place at the state level Texas 4-H Record Book Judging competition,

MAY submit a Record Book in future years in the same category in which they earned first place. A 4-H member may win State in Record Book multiple years and if they chose, attend the Texas 4-H Leadership Conference multiple years.


Record books are typically due in May/June each year

The Big Tex Scholarship Program has awarded college scholarships to more than 3,000 students for a total of more than $17.4 million. Eligible recipients include graduating high school seniors around the state of Texas who have participated in competitive youth livestock events held at the State Fair, graduating seniors from six Dallas Independent School District high schools in the Fair Park area, and seasonal employees of the State Fair of Texas or their dependents.

STATE PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST


The state 4-H photography contest is a senior-only qualifying contest where photos qualify directly from COUNTY to STATE. 

  • Qualify from county level (district contests have no bearing on qualifications)
  • Open to senior age division only
  • 15 categories (includes a new “Abandoned” theme for this year)
  • Entry timeline is April 1-15
  • No late entries accepted


Tractor Supply Company partners with the National 4-H Council to host a Paper Clover campaign, a biannual fundraiser that generates millions of dollars in scholarships for 4-H youth. Donations from the campaign strengthen 4-H educational programs and provide students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on projects, receive guidance from adult mentors and develop the skills necessary to take on proactive leadership roles.
