Welcome Back, Lions Family!
We are off to a great start this school year, and I can’t wait to see everyone again. This September, we are diving into our BOY (beginning-of-the-year) assessments so that we can see how our scholars are progressing in reading, math, and science. Please continue encouraging your scholars to do their best!
Join me for PowWow with the Principal on Sept. 5 @ 9:00 AM in person or virtually. During this time, we will discuss upcoming events and activities. We also have an open forum to cover any other items that you would like to discuss. Please see the Zoom link below.
September 15th starts the observance of Hispanic Heritage. As we celebrate Hispanic culture, be on the lookout for your scholar to bring home lessons, activities, and crafts!
RSPA is excited to welcome the 21st Century After-school program. The after-school program begins on September 11th and runs from 3:30 to 6:00 PM daily, including Fridays. They can accept up to 125 students, so hurry and grab a spot. Scholars must maintain good attendance to remain in the program.
School safety is always our number one priority, and for the next few months, we will have security on campus. Officer Levier (Mr. L) helps monitor the inside and outside of our school, is present during arrival and dismissal, and makes sure that all staff and scholars are secure.
The new STEAM lab is ready to receive scholars. Through the MSAP grant, we are able to provide several new learning experiences for your child. Robotics, Music Engineering, Coding/Technology, and Violin are offered this year. We have partnered with OKA+ to help us integrate fine arts and academics into one.
Join us for Grandparents’ Day while honoring 9/11. Come out and eat breakfast with your scholar. Breakfast will be from 7:30-8:30 AM in the Library.
Remember, “98 is Great” for our daily attendance. Parents, please bring your scholar to school each and every day. There is a direct link between student achievement and attendance.
We welcome the Fall season with optimism and enthusiasm! Our scholars are in for some rigorous and engaging work, and with help from family, they will succeed.
My door is always open. Please stop by and say Hello!
Every Child, Every Day, 100% of the Time!!
