Greetings, Lions Family!
I am excited to welcome my favorite season of the year! Fall breeze and Autumn leaves…
This November, we have several events in store for our scholars. The Science Fair is Nov. 9th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. Scholars will set up their experiments and put them on display for the judges to see, and then the top 3 (divided by grades) will receive their ribbons and certificates.
The Scholastic Book Fair is here once again. Parents, please join us for some treats and eats while you shop for books with your scholar any day of the week. Please see the flyer below for more details.
Join us for our annual Thanksgiving Family Luncheon. Our cafeteria staff works extremely hard to prepare a delicious meal for you and your scholar. The cost is $10 per person. See flyer below for more details.
Scholars will also have opportunities to go on a few field experiences. The field experiences range from the oil ranch to the Alley Theater. All field experiences are connected to the grade level TEKS and have pre-work and postwork connected to them. Our scholars are able to make instructional connections.
Parents, please join me for PowWow with the Principal every first Tuesday of the month. We discuss the month's events and have an open forum to stay connected. Also, join Ms. White, our campus counselor, for Coffee with the Counselor, where she dives into the character trait for the month. Ms. White will walk parents through what their scholars will learn. This makes for a great school-home relationship.
The Student Council will have its first interest meeting this month, and scholars will have an opportunity to run for a position. Stay tuned for more information. National Junior Honor Society will also meet this month; however, scholars are selected based on academic standards. Please be on the lookout for the invitation for your scholar to join.
As a reminder, 98 is Great!! We need our scholars at school. Our attendance rate was very low for the month of October, and I’d like to turn that around. When your scholar misses class, the achievement gap widens.
Enjoy your family this Thanksgiving Break, and, if you can, be a blessing to others; this is the season of giving!
My door is always open. Please stop by and say Hello!
