Humanity First International Connection: Munum Naeem visits French Guiana

Munum Naeem, Chairman and the Executive Director of Humanity First USA on behalf of Humanity First International, has just returned from his 5 days visit to French Guiana. The 23 member Humanity First French Guiana (HFFG) team welcomed him to learn about all their humanitarian work, in particular a successful Refugee Management Program.

Mr. Naeem met The Préfet His Excellency Mr. Antoine Poussier, the highest appointed representative of the French Government in French Guiana and the elected President of French Guiana, His Excellency Mr. Gabriel Serville (pictured with Munum) at a dinner hosted by HFFG partners the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of French Guiana. Both leaders commended the work of Humanity First when they addressed the audience of global dignitaries and local leaders.

Representatives of the government reached out to Humanity First in 2021 to assist in the refugee management program because of HFFG’s other well-run humanitarian efforts. The French Guiana government assigns the refugees to Humanity First who supports up to 300 people at a time with housing and social services. hrough its centers in Cayenne, Matoury, and Sinnamary. Mr. Naeem toured the sites and observed the work HFFG is doing to manage living spaces, social services and support for hundreds of people. Mayor Serge Smock of Matoury, one of the program locations, thanked HFFG for their good work. 

The President of Humanity First French Guiana, Mr. Basharat Muhammad and Director of Operations, Mr. Said Haddioui, as well as Mr. Luqman Bajwa, the President of AMC French Guiana led detailed discussions and review of HF French Guiana’s operations.


Mr. Naeem was deeply impressed by efforts to support local children with school supplies and by the commitment of the food distribution team to serve 200 hot meals to hungry and needy people every single day each week.
