HFUSA commemorates a milestone of 20 years of serving humanity. We renew our commitment to expand sustainable pathways for people around the world to succeed and flourish.

Our Journey

Origin of Humanity First

Humanity First began in 1992 with Disaster Relief aid to Bosnia and later on expanded to human development care.

Gift of Sight was launched in 1996 and Feed a Family (Food Security) in 1997.

From 1992-2004

Through the Humanity First network, American volunteers had already been contributing to global impact since the 1990s.

Early Years

In April 2004, Humanity First USA became a fully registered 501c3 organization. Soon after, Humanity First USA brought crucial relief to people displaced and injured after the tsunami in Southeast Asia and an earthquake in Kashmir.

In the US, Hurricane Katrina was our first major disaster response, and then our focus quickly turned to education and food security for children and families.

Our 20 year impact summary

The Humanity First USA journey has entailed 64 disaster relief efforts, 7 current food security distribution centers and one stand alone food pantry, 3 hospitals & clinics including Nasir Hospital in Guatemala, 315K patients served through hospitals and global medical camps, 5,384 cataract surgeries under the Gift of Sight missions, 27 schools and vocational centers around the world, and 1,633 water installations in barren villages.

Virtual Walk

Join us for the inaugural 'Walk the World for Humanity' Virtual Walk fundraiser at the end of the summer! You can participate as an individual, team, or get your organization to take part.
