What is going on with the Diamond Lake Road Project?
The concrete contractor is continuing to install the foundations. The south foundation was completed on Oct. 9 (first picture). Last week, they had to divert the creek a second time and excavate for the north foundation. Framing, placing reinforcement bars and pouring concrete for the north foundation will take place this week (second picture). The north foundation should be completely poured by Friday or Saturday (weather permitting).

Once that is in place and up to strength, they will be setting the precast concrete sections on the foundations with a crane, then backfilling the area in preparation for replacing the pavement. Once the road is reopened to traffic, they will finish the items can be done under traffic like installing the guardrail and landscaping.

Fremont Township Highway Department Building
If you drive out by our offices you will see our new building going up for the Fremont Township Highway Department.  They haven't had any improvements since 1979 and we are excited to get the trucks into this new building before winter. Next year the roof on the existing building will be painted and the roof will be repaired.

Many of our residents use our driveway to access Route 60 and we will open that driveway access to you as soon as we can.

Many of you ask what you can do to help.  Our food pantry is in need of toiletries and cleaning supplies. We also need women's extra large pull-ups, small/medium mens pull-ups and shield guards and size 6 kids diapers.
Coat Drive for Residents in Need
We are accepting coats that will be given to local residents in need.  If you have coats the kids have outgrown or no longer need, we are happy to accept them.
We are especially in need of coats for children.  You can drop them at our office or at Jays Quick Pick at Midlothian and 176.
Recycle Sheets, Blankets, Towels, for the Dogs
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.
