Design Driven
Hubbardton Forge is a lighting manufacturer in Vermont that I have admired for a very long time. A few years ago I was invited to tour the factory and my admiration for what they do, how they do it and why they do it increased dramatically. Their mission is both design driven and eco friendly.Their in house design team begins with drawings, moves to 3D printing and planned tooling and finally into production. Modern American Craftsmen and women diligently forge, bend and tool the design, clean and treat the metal and paint it leaving the tiniest eco footprint possible. Finished products are packaged wisely with protection and degradable materials to again keep that eco footprint small.
