The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) is entering the next stage of the Building A Healthier Maryland (BAHM) process through the Public Health Systems Assessment.

The goal of the Public Health Systems Assessment is to gather information regarding the types of services your organization provides, the populations you serve, the health concerns you address, and your community building efforts. It is intended for organizations that could address BAHM priorities which may include (but are not limited to): Government, Coalitions, Community-Based Organizations, Business & Industry, Health Care, Education, and Faith-Based Organizations. Collectively, we can leverage and align resources to address the health and wellbeing of all Marylanders.

Coalition members are asked to have a representative complete the assessment survey on behalf of their organization by January 31, 2024. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center is pleased to offer childbirth and parent education programs including infant care, breastfeeding, new moms, and parents support groups, and pregnancy support.
