"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy , which shall be to all people. For unto you  is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:10

Galatians 5:22-23...

"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. There is no law against these things"

Joy, a fruit of the Spirit!

Joy is further defined as a feeling of great pleasure and happiness...However Joy can be lacking depth and feeble if based upon self indulgence

at the Friday Morning Men's Fellowship, I will be speaking to the approximate 40 men in attendance on the topic:

Our 3 grandsons (pictured below left to right)  Noah (17), Jeremiah(20) and Joseph (14), who bring us great joy, will be in the audience on Friday at our Men's Group.
Sadly our 3 teenage granddaughters (also pictured below left to right)  Emma Grace(16), Zoe (18) and Mary Brennan(16) cannot join the men only meeting!

My talk will center on how I have gone from a self centered
philosophy of "eat, drink and be merry..." as an atheist...to a believer, saved by grace, and filled with the Holy Spirit,  desiring, discovering and growing in His word on how to live a fruitful life... focused on God and others more than myself...resulting in being filled with joy...only by His grace and mercy.

This week...a perfect example:

My waitress was a 25 year old with a Muslim background from Turkey.
She was attractive, full of vitality, well spoken yet sober towards life.
I told her because of her good service I had a gift for her: my wristband... I am a sinner, Jesus Christ is my Savior, John 3:16... She listened to my every word of my personal testimony...

When I was through giving my 2 minute testimony she said:
"I have a Muslim background. When I came to Atlanta from Turkey, some new friends of mine invited me to church to hear Andy Stanley. I listened and afterwards I simply asked God to reveal himself to me as I daily read the Bible in my room. One day the Bible came alive to me and I claimed Jesus as my Savior..."

The restaurant was packed and before I left... we hugged and I told her that  I want my grandchildren to hear her testimony when they visit soon. She agreed

= it was a Joy unspeakable experience!
It is the result of
asking meaningful questions, listening intently, and being compelled by love not duty to share the gospel of
Jesus Christ

...listening, loving, and giving my testimony... and in this case also hearing an inspiring testimony... the Gospel of Jesus was proclaimed by the 2 of us.. encounters like this are the keys to daily JOY

"How to Overflow With Joy!"

Being obedient to the Word of God
and experiencing JOY as a fruit of the Holy Spirit is far superior to the shallow short term joys of the world.
By believers getting outside of self and focused on His will they will become a mighty witness of their faith in Jesus Christ...JOY will abound because they are centered on the will of God...people!
