NAF Advisory Board: May News

Greetings Marketing,

As the school year winds down, summer draws near, and our seniors get ready to move on to their next step, it’s a good time of year for all of us to pause and reflect on our impact. What were some of our major accomplishments this school year as an advisory board and/or as an industry professional for the students we support? What were some things we might do differently moving forward? Jot down some notes and share these out with your fellow board members as you begin to think about what’s next in the upcoming school year.

And please remember that NAF, your communities, schools, educators, students, and parents are thankful for all you do to ensure that our students are future ready!

Strategic Planning

Student success doesn’t happen by accident. It takes all of us leaning in to achieve the goals we set together. Late spring to early fall is an excellent time to set your advisory board’s goals for the year and refresh your annual strategic plan.

Need help getting started? NAF has some great resources to help you create your next strategic plan, including access to work-based learning data!

Work-Based Learning Data

Each NAF academy has access to the NAF Work-Based Learning Tracker, which can help highlight all the WBL taking place each year, monitor student participation, and track on the student-perceived impact of each activity. If you haven’t seen this data before, make sure to ask your local NAF academy lead to share this information out with the board so you can use this data to set targets and note the board's impact.

You can use WBL data to identify gaps in activities offered and analyze which opportunities are most impactful based on student feedback.

If you have any questions, please contact brice@naf.org.
