| Our Core Values |
Focus on God Authority of Scripture Intentional Evangelism Transformational Learning Help Family & Friendships |
| Our Mission | Follow & Lead Others to Follow Christ
The Faith Baptist Church Mission Statement is a simple, concise declaration of what we are all about. Following Christ may be simple, but it is never easy. Jesus said, "Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me" (Mark 8:34). To follow Jesus always means a cross. The cross is our symbol of the characteristics of a fullly, functioning follower of Christ |
Five Characteristics of a Fully, Functioning Follower of Christ
|
Worship Expressing Love to God. We provide Worship Services to help you worship God.
Fellowship Loving other Christians deeply. We provide Sunday School and Small Groups to help you love each other.
Discipleship Growing toward Christlikeness. We provide relationships to help you become like Jesus Christ.
Ministry Serving Christ by serving others. We provide Ministry Teams to help you serve Christ and others.
Evangelism Leading others to the saving knowledge of Jesus. We want you to tell others how to be a follower of Christ.

|
Our Vision
|
At Faith Baptist Church, we envision sharing the good
news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the thousands of people in
Lenawee county area, many of whom accept Him as Lord and Savior.

| Greetings!
Have you ever thought about Jesus and His mom. On the cross, Jesus is bearing the weight of the sins of the whole world on His shoulders, and yet He sees to it to make sure His mother is taken care of after He is gone! As God, Jesus is dealing w/ eternal matters, but as a man, He's showing all of us today how important it is to take care and love our mothers! You cannot be wrong with your mother and be right with God. If your mother is still alive, regardless of your ages, you can love her in these 7 ways:
1. Love her Verbally. Esp. men have the philosophy-I don't have to say I love you, you already know it. I have told you before, if I change my mind I'll let you know! Or, I SHOW love, not just say it...and that may be true, but a woman needs to hear those words, "I Love You!"
2. Love her Physically. When's the last time you gave her a big hug w/ out her asking for it...or a kiss on the cheek, or a neck rub, or just sat on the couch and held her for a change? She's the first person who ever touched you...she wrapped you up in her womb for months, and you came out and first priority was to hold you, and she cuddled you, stroked your head, rubbed your feet, held your little cheeks against her, gave you a finger to grasp...in love she did all these things, including grooming you w/ a licked thumb!
3. Love her Patiently. Mothers have an incredible job w/ no pay. No position in the business world compares to the physical, emotional, and spiritual commitment she has in motherhood. Love her patiently...just because she's tender to your needs is no reason to take advantage of her, it's reason to be patient and to love her all the more!
4. Love her Attentively. Mothers listen as you pour out your heart...she has a sympathetic ear, always has...and even as an adult you've gone to her when you want someone who will really listen and understand...and she'll always be on your side. One day a father sat his children down and said, "you all are living the best days of your life right now, because you have your children and your parents." It caused them to realize 2 truths: one about their parents:, and how they won't always have them. And another about theirchildren.
6. Love her Generously. There's nothing too good for her, we could never repay her, but we ought to die trying before she dies! She didn't spend on herself unless all your needs were met...she could easily do without, and now it's time for her to have something she wants!
7. Love her Honorably. Exodus 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. This is binding as long as your mother lives. Another command says children, obey...non-binding when you leave home, but "honor" is different! "Yeah, but my mother wasn't honorable!" Well, the Bible says nothing about that qualification...it only asks, is she your mother! By the way, it's the only one of the 10 commandments which includes a built-in promise of blessing!
Lord, help us never to be too busy for mom...if You could take time and great effort for her on the cross in Your death, help us to love her while we have her in our life!
See you Saturday or Sunday,
Greg Burdine |

M issions News A Weekly Report from one of our missionaries. Faith Baptist supports 50 missionaries in 25 countries with an annual budget of $60,000.
From Charles & Mary Joyce, our missionaries in Burkina Faso, Africa.
Since Pastor Dominike and his wife, Virginie, moved into Ouagadougou to assume the pas-torate of the church in Dassasgo, there has been no pastor in Boulwando. Mary and I decided to take over the responsibilities of the church while we wait for God to call someone to pastor this church.
One of the things we started in Boulwando was American Flag Football as a way to reach out to the youth. We were concerned about its reception with a group of people that had never seen, let alone held, an American football. Yet, the reception was overwhelming as the youth look for-ward each week to our time on the field.
Mary had begun teaching, with coloring aides, the seven days of creation. By the time she reached the sixth day, two young teenagers turned to Christ for salvation. Adama KONSIMBO, the son of the Naba, and Issak SAWADOGO, the Naba's indentured servant, affirmed their new found faith to me after the football game and again last week with a guest preacher, David KOR-GO. Please pray for these young men as they began their new walk in Christ on their way to manhood. |

Mom Answers by 2nd Graders
Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is. 2. Mostly to clean the house. 3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.
How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us. 2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring 3. God made my mom just the same like he made me. He just used bigger parts.
What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean. 2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.
Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We're related 2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me. |
