A Big Thank You from Westside CARES
Westside CARES Backpack and School Supplies Project
Thank you to all who participated in Westside CARES Backpack and School Supplies Project this year. Because of the generous donations of 21 faith communities, Westside CARES volunteers delivered 439 backpacks and school supplies to 22 schools for their students in need. Schools in the Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Mountain and Harrison Districts receive the supplies which include backpacks, pencils, filler paper, spiral notebooks, colored pencils, crayons, rulers, scissors, tissues and other items.
Some churches collect more than requested, and therefore this year we were also able to give additional materials to schools that requested extras and still have some supplies left for next year. We wish you could hear the thanks and appreciation that is expressed when supplies are delivered. Westside CARES and the staff of each school appreciates your generosity very much.
