PRAYER TO
ST. VALENTINE
Dear Lord,
who art high in the Heavens,
Giver of Love and Passion,
And He who strings the heart's cords,
Lead the Lovers this day,
February ten plus four.
The day during the month of two,
When the date is the perfect number of God
Greater two souls and two hearts.
Some Loves are fleeting ,
But that which is built on you will never fail.
So guide the Lovers to know what is to be.
Your truths the Lovers' mouths should speak,
For Your truth is that which is honest to the heart.
Only this, then, should pass over the red lips of the Lovers.
Your art, the Lovers simply a medium.
It is only with True Hearts that You can create a Masterpiece,
So let the Lovers remember that their Soul's Desire
Is the one for which You light their Fire.
And let it be You who creates the Art of the Lovers;
The art of two into one.
Amen.

THE FEAST OF
OUR LADY OF LOURDES
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11
Ever Immaculate Virgin Mother of Mercy,
Health of the sick, refuge of sinners, Comforter of the afflicted,
you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings;
look with mercy on me.
By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes,
you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary,
whence you dispense your favors;
and already many sufferers have obtained the
cure for their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with complete confidence
to implore your maternal intercession.
Obtain, O loving Mother, the grant of my requests.
Through gratitude for your favors,
I will endeavor to imitate your virtues,
that I may one day share your glory.
Amen.

THE MOST RECENT
MIRACULOUS HEALING!!
AT LOURDES
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes
is a popular destination for the faithful devoted to Mary
and those seeking miraculous healings, spiritually and physically.
Attracting over 3 million visitors,
young St. Bernadette Soubirous saw Mary appear at this site,
repeatedly, beginning Feb. 11, 1858.
Mary asked that people return to God and pray, pray, pray!
Mary instructed Bernadette to scrape at the ground - and a spring of water appeared that formed a pool - still here today!
Miraculous healings have occurred.
While over 7,000 miraculous recoveries are attributed to
Our Lady of Lourdes's intercession at the French shrine,
the Catholic Church has confirmed 70 medical miracles there
The most recent miraculous healing, the 70th, is Sister Bernadette Moriau.
You can read about her miraculous healing
and
Watch a video clip of Bill Whitaker discuss this healing and others
on 60 Minutes!

HUMOR HIGHLIGHT
The Miraculous Cane
As the choir was practicing,
an old man with a cane,
bent over and obviously in pain,
hobble laboriously through the sanctuary
and into the pastor’s office.
He emerged ten minutes later,
walking upright and moving with grace and speed.
“Good gracious,” the choir director exclaimed.
“Did the pastor heal you by faith?”
“No,” the old man said with a smile.
“He just gave me a cane that wasn’t six inches too short!

GOSPEL READING REFLECTION
For February 12, 2023
SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Year A - Mt 5:17-37
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Choose what is right and live!
"Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments
and teaches others to do so
will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.
But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments
will be called greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
- Our Lord confirms that the ten commandments, which in philosophical language are known as the natural law, are still fully in effect.
- He also corrects the commandments, for example, removing the permission Moses gave the Chosen People for husbands to divorce their wives.
- Finally, he expands the scope of the commandments. We are to obey the moral law not just in actions, but in words and even in thoughts.
- Christ came to save sinners, yet he says in no uncertain terms that a deliberate refusal to obey the moral law and a refusal to repent will have severe consequences.

ANSWER TO QUIZ
When we are not able to receive
the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity
of Jesus in the Eucharist,
Catholics are encouraged to make a spiritual communion.
This “is an earnest desire to receive Communion in reality,
by which desire we make all preparations and thanksgivings
that we would make” if we were about
to receive Jesus sacramentally in the Eucharist.
It is an invitation to Our Lord to dwell
within our souls spiritually,
even when we can’t receive Him in Holy Communion.
The soul which makes a spiritual communion is
blessed with abundant graces.
Spiritual communion cannot replace sacramental Communion,
but when we cannot receive Him physically,
it greatly enriches the soul and fosters constant desire for
Our Lord in the Eucharist.
