"The Family that Prays Together

Stays Together"

Our faith is not just something

we celebrate on Sundays,

but something meant to

permeate every aspect of our life.

If the home is where the heart is,

then our homes should be places

where we live out

our faith and friendship

with Jesus Christ

each and every day!

SPECIAL PRAYERS

PRAYER TO BLESS

YOUR HOME

"Heavenly Father, I ask Your blessing upon this home.

In the Name of Your Son Jesus,

I ask for all those who dwell here

to be delivered from sin and all evil influences.

Protect us, dear Father, from sickness, accidents,

theft and all domestic tragedies.

I place this home under the Lordship of Jesus

and consecrate all who dwell here to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

May all who live here receive Your blessing of peace and love.

Amen."

Our Father...Hail Mary...Glory be to ...

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil;

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;

And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God,

thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits

who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Suggestion: Sprinkle holy water from your church in different areas of your home.

Falling in love with a Whom …

Conversion, or turning toward God in faith,

usually happens through one or more of the transcendentals:

truth, goodness and beauty.

In sharing his story, Adam LaCrosse demonstrates

that conversion must take place not only in our minds,

but come from deep within our hearts,

if we really desire a lasting joy with Jesus

that leads us into eternity.

HUMOR HIGHLIGHT

JOHNNY'S DUST

After church, Johnny tells his parents

he needs to talk to the pastor right away.

They agree, and the pastor greets the family.

“Pastor,” Johnny says, “I heard you say today that our bodies

came from the dust.”

“That’s right, Johnny, I did,” he says.

“And I heard you say that when we die, our bodies go back to dust.”

“Yes, I’m glad you were listening,” the pastor replies.

“Why do you ask?”

“Well you better come over to our house right away and look under my bed, ’cause there’s someone either comin’ or goin’!”

FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Year A -    Mt 5:1-12A

Christ’s Beatitudes can

teach and transform us.

"Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you

and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.

Rejoice and be glad,

for your reward will be great in heaven.”

  • Every one of us desires to be blessed, that is, to be happy and to receive and possess good things.

  • We can be blessed in two ways: (1) by what is given to us by others and (2) by what we receive by our own choices and actions.

  • The Catechism instructs us that Christ’s Beatitudes “respond to the desire for happiness that God has placed in the human heart” (CCC 1725).

  • In addition, “The Beatitudes teach us the final end to which God calls us: the Kingdom, the vision of God, participation in the divine nature, eternal life, filiation, rest in God” (CCC 1726).

  • Further, “The beatitude of eternal life is a gratuitous gift of God. It is supernatural, as is the grace that leads us there.” (CCC 1727)
