Week 3: Putting the Plan into Action
|
|
There are a few things you can do to get the most benefit from your self-coaching. We recommend recording your answers to assessment below in a designated "Leadership Climb Self Coaching" journal or notebook. Your review and reflection on your answers now and in the future will be key to your continued growth.
This week is about putting the plan you created in to ACTION. If you have not already done so, take steps to execute upon your plan from last week and then come back here to record your progress. Again, you may choose one or more of the following characteristics to investigate over the next 4 weeks.

Relationship Management
To manage their relationships properly, leaders need to further cultivate their emotional intelligence skills, clearly communicate their needs to their team mates, and, most importantly, know how to properly navigate situations that might evolve into conflict.
|
|
As you begin to execute your plan of action for developing your Change Management skills, we invite you to explore other thought leaders on different ways you can approach this:

Handwritten thank-you notes from the CEO proudly adorned her wall.

The external partners that you decide to align your business with can either positively or negatively impact your short and long term success. They can either lift your business up to reach greater levels of significance or pull your business down — making you vulnerable and guiding you down a path of ineffective decision-making. Relationships with external partners (vendors, consultants, advisors, non-profit organizations, etc.) can either make you stronger and wiser about your future, or they can weaken you and blind you to the opportunities perhaps right in front of you.

Self Coaching - Putting the Plan Into Action:
As you re-read and execute your Plan from last week, consider the following...
1. How did the difficult situations you decided to address go? What went well? What would you do differently in the future?
2. What other nuances to your relationships have you noticed now that you've been focusing on them? Are there any positive situations that stand out in your mind? Any negative ones?
3. With your team members that you have either poor or healthy relationships with, how do you tell the difference between the two? Did you notice the "red flags" that warn of friction and conflict? How did you navigate conflict with the healthy relationships?
4. What are the upcoming opportunities in which you can more deeply focus on your behavior and the behavior of others when conflict arises?
5. Who can you ask to be an accountability partner in these situations, so that you can work to focus on your desired outcomes and strategies?
