In July 2023, Hamilton saw an overall decline in the number of job posts coming from our Job Board and in the number of companies hiring.

For July 2023, the most in-demand job continues to be Retail Salespersons. Followed by Professors, Nurses, Food-Service related jobs and Cooks.

We are interested in hiring a Manager, Financial Reporting to boost our Finance team working out of our Hamilton location. This role will operate with a focus on financial reporting and implementing strong financial controls. Our ideal candidate should be flexible and adaptable, which will allow for the effective working of a matrix finance organization. The role will report directly to the Controller and will be part of the finance leadership team. Besides these skills, you should have strong MS Excel skills and experience with an ERP system.

Understanding under-representation in Canada's labour market

How do economists define who is “under-represented” in the labour market? LMIC reviews six approaches.

  • Defining under-representation is crucial to improve labour market outcomes and growth, especially for groups facing systematic disadvantages and seeking equity in the labour force.


The concept of under-representation is closely related to equity in the context of labour market outcomes. Not all under-represented groups are equity-seeking, and policies to increase employment for specific under-represented groups may not address equity and social justice concerns.

HamOntYouth Beach Cleanup

The members of the City of Hamilton HamOntYouth Steering Committee would like to invite the community to their 2nd annual HamOntYouth Beach Clean Up. Join us for some good food, good vibes, and help make our community a cleaner place. You can also learn more about the HamOntYouth Steering Committee, Xperience Annex, Green Venture, and the YMCA Newcomer Youth Centre.

We are encouraging people to come in teams of 3-7 to compete in our team events of most garbage collected and most enthusiastic team (costumes encouraged). Prizes courtesy of Forge FC will be given to the winners.

Bring a white t-shirt with you and participate in our Tie Dye Booth courtesy of the City of Hamilton Youth Engagers.

New to this year’s event will be live music from HamOntYouth Steering Committee Member Emma Bown.
