Instead of noting that the season's winding down or that the River air is cooling, I'll focus on an exciting topic from recent dealer meetings.
At Harris, Tiara, Regal & Whaler, instilling confidence in the boat buyers of tomorrow emerged as a common theme. In recent years, significant investments in marine electronics makes navigation much more intuitive. Joystick technology at the helm on all forms of twin propulsion removes most of the stress associated with docking. At a Whaler design session, I experienced a 365 Conquest entering a harbour and completely dock itself. While this technology is still in development, it offers a glimpse into the future.
