Thank You SFPS Staff!

To Santa Fe Public School Staff: On March 13, you left for spring break. Most of you haven't seen your classrooms and offices since. But you did what educators always do. You took a crisis and turned it into an opportunity. Hustling to roll out new tech, coming up with innovative ideas in distance learning, figuring out a way to feed kids who needed it. You are caring, creative, and committed to Santa Fe's children. You saw needs, and you addressed them.

Usually in May, Partners in Education honors seven Teachers Who Inspire. This year, PIE is saluting every single person - classroom teachers and secretaries, administrators and accountants, counselors and coaches, transportation and tech. You've kept the wheels on the buses, and when they start rolling again, we'll know who made it happen.

PIE recognized all 1,900+ SFPS staff in a full-page ad in the Santa Fe New Mexican on Sunday, May 31st.  Special thanks to PNM, the State Employees Credit Union, First National Bank, and the Santa Fe New Mexican for sponsoring this special recognition!

Engage4Ten Program Updates

Student artwork from Gregory Gutin's lesson on the architectural history of homes.

The past 2 weeks, ArtWorks Teaching Artists have been teaching dance, visual arts, and music lessons to SFPS students.

At no cost to students, Engage4Ten offered almost 400 SFPS students online experiences that foster creativity and critical thinking in fun and engaging activities. These activities are being led during an extension of the school year specifically for  creative learning opportunities.

The final Engage4Ten session will be held on Friday, June 12th, with students sharing what they've created during these special creative sessions. Thank you to District staff for organizing this, and to our Teaching Artists for leading several of these lessons!
