To guide you in planning and facilitating

2. 1:00-2:30 PDT (4:00-5:30 PM EDT)

Hosted by Lizabeth Kashinsky & Chris Quiseng

in Hawaii

Register in advance for this meeting

Your hosts will tell the history of the Global Earth Exchange, explain why it is such an important event for people and the places they love, share stories of previous Global Earth Exchanges, and describe the five steps of how to hold your own Global Earth Exchange. You'll explore questions like:

  • How do I find my wounded place?
  • How do I describe the Global Earth Exchange to my friends?
  • What do we do once we get there?
  • What's the best way to make a "gift of beauty"?

The webinars are offered at two different times to accommodate the many different time zones of RadJoy's worldwide members. The first program is hosted by Harriet Sams in England, the second by Lizabeth Kashinsky and Chris Quiseng in Hawaii.

Both webinars will be recorded if you can't attend live. The webinars are free, but donations are welcome.

About the Global Earth Exchange

For the past 15 years, people have been holding Global Earth Exchanges across the globe, going to places they care about that are damaged or endangered and offering gifts of gratitude.

This year, on June 15, we will continue this beloved tradition, and we invite you to join us. You can do it with a group, a friend, or even by yourself. You might do it in a wilderness area, a city park, or your own back yard. You don’t even have to do it on June 15. It can be done at any time during that week.

By honoring the resilience of the Earth and to support ourselves during these challenging times, the Global Earth Exchange invites us to turn our attention towards, and be present with, wounded places. It also invites us to notice what is thriving and beautiful in those places.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Harriet, Lizabeth, and Chris have been participating in and hosting Global Earth Exchanges for many years.

Harriet Sams teaches, mentors, and facilitates ecotherapy and archaeotherapy. She works for the Buddhist ecotherapy charity, Tariki Trust, UK, and co-hosts Earth Exchange Cafés for Radical Joy for Hard Times. She co-facilitates “Through the Door” imaginal workshops for the Climate Psychology Alliance and writes on myth, archaeology, Earth-based spirituality, environmental art, and climate/ecological chaos. Harriet is currently researching for her PhD in archaeotherapy at Bournemouth University.

Lizabeth Kashinsky has worked in the field of conservation in Hawai’i for over 25 years. She holds a Master's degree in Ecopsychology, is a certified Ecotherapist, and is training to be a grief educator. In addition to her day job working to recover endangered and threatened marine species, she teaches yoga, leads nature based retreats and workshops, and facilitates The Work That Reconnects.

Christopher Quiseng, founder of Thriving Sun Nature-Based Practice, is an ecopsychologist, archeologist, wilderness rite of passage guide, youth mentor and wellness educator on the Island of Hawai’i. He holds a Master’s degree in Ecopsychology and is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Christopher’s deep appreciation for wisdom traditions that acknowledge nature as an integral part of our human identity continues to inspire his work.

TWO BOOKS TO GUIDE YOUR

GLOBAL EARTH EXCHANGE

101 Ways to Make Guerrilla Beauty

by Trebbe Johnson

"Trebbe Johnson not only celebrates these 'wounded places' but invites us to discover meaning, vitality, and delight in them and, in the process, in ourselves. We do this by visiting these places and making 'guerrilla beauty' for them-anonymous, bold, spontaneous tokens of gratitude or consolation.

Discover how people around the world

You’ve Made Earth More Beautiful! is a book of stories and photos by many of the people around the world who have honored and made beauty for hurt places over the years.
