Hospital Community Benefit Accountability Update

The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) would like to announce that on June 14, 2024, the proposed revisions surrounding House Bill 23-1243: Hospital Community Benefit Accountability (HCBA) rule were adopted by the Medical Services Board. HCPF would like to thank all stakeholders for their feedback during this process. Revisions to rule Section 8.5000, Hospital Community Benefit Accountability, become effective July 30, 2024.

Currently, HCPF and Myers & Stauffers are implementing all revisions to the HCBA annual template, including the expanded criteria from House Bill 23-1243. Upon completion of the template, HCPF will hold a stakeholder webinar to review changes made to the annual template.

HCPF would also like to remind hospitals that hospital community benefit submissions will be due to HCPF on September 13, 2024.
