Gut Check: Nutrition for Digestive Health and Beyond
The human gastrointestinal tract is nearly the length of a small school bus, with a surface area nearing the size of a tennis court. Over the last decade, scientists have discovered the gut microbiome's dynamic and synergistic impact on human health and disease.
In case you missed it, view the recorded webinar "Gut Check: Nutrition for Digestive Health and Beyond", presented by the National Dairy Council and experts Hannah Holscher, PhD, RD and Amanda Sauceda, MS, RD. Attendees leave with tips on how best to educate patients on digestive health and wellbeing. This webinar is approved for 1 CEU through CDR and is pending 1 CME through AAFP.

What Is Lactose Intolerance?
February is National Lactose Intolerance Awareness Month, but what exactly is it, and how do you know you have it? Lactose intolerance is a type of food sensitivity, but it can sometimes be confused with dairy allergy, leading to unnecessary elimination of milk or other dairy foods. This quick video from our friends at Midwest Dairy answers these questions and more, including what you can eat if you're lactose intolerant. The best part? If you are lactose intolerant, you don't have to miss out on the health benefits of real dairy!

Yogurt and Health
Emerging evidence indicates that eating yogurt as part of a healthy diet may be associated with a lower risk for chronic diseases, long-term weight maintenance and reduced markers of chronic inflammation. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend eating low-fat or fat-free dairy foods like yogurt every day to help meet nutrient needs.
