Stop this Rain!!!!

Not much today, it's a slow week, we are in mid-year blues mode.

If you are going for UCLA TAP then you should have attended a TAP Workshop (thanks!) and have met with an Honors Counselor (thanks again!). Contact us if you are late to the party. See all the info online that you need to deal with. It's raining right now. Ugggh!

We opened a new Canvas course for Honors Students. We sent a separate email - so go look at that. It's raining, what more do you want from us? This is the invite link.

Get your AA, ADT and Certs for graduation!

Are you done with Foothill at the end of this academic year in June? You should celebrate with us. Please submit documentation to the college in early March for your AA & ADT degrees as well as certificates. This is an important step in your educational journey. We appreciate your efforts and want to throw a party in your honor. You can even double up! You can have an AA and an ADT as well as a Certificate! It is easy to miss the deadline so do it now. Here is the webpage. https://foothill.edu/counseling/petition.html

After you fill out the forms then make an appt with a counselor.

You can make a 30-minute appt with a counselor. If they are booked then do DROP IN COUNSELING or Quick Questions.

Remember to document for your counselor that you will take the required courses by the end of the year.  This is what you do when you make your ed plan.

Virtual Artist Talk with Raymond Thompson Jr

Noon – 1 p.m. • Register for Zoom Access

Please join artist, educator, and visual journalist Raymond Thompson Jr for a talk about "It's hard to stop rebels that time travel" (2021 to present), his photography project that utilizes archival fragments, historic ephemera, and his own images to focus on individual stories of slaves, maroons, and runaways whose existence is only now revealed through traces in the collective archive.

This project works to expand narratives about the Black experience and our connection to the “American” landscape. This work has been guided by local historic archives of runaway slave ads, lynching news articles, Black folklore and other location specific historical events.

For more information and images of Thompson's work, visit raymondthompsonjr.com.

Let's go to the Theatre

The RSL Symposium

Plan to participate in this campus and community-wide event!

The Research and Service Leadership Symposium provides students an opportunity to expand their learning beyond the walls of the classroom (or the confines of the screen); to investigate their world through in-depth research projects; to create and participate in worthwhile service learning activities, including original creative arts projects, and to present their newfound knowledge, insights and experiences to the campus community. Students will gain experience presenting in a professional conference setting on the virtual campus through presentations, performance, displays and discussion.

The Symposium itself is the culminating event of these student projects. The event includes

  • A full day and evening of presentations, peer discussion forums, art galleries, and creative performances.
  • Awards ceremony, keynote speaker and closing celebration.
