MESSAGE FROM MAYOR KLING

Honoring our fathers is a joy and privilege!

I was so blessed to have an amazing dad, whom I miss greatly, and a husband who is a great father to our children. The role of a father is critical in shaping our individual lives which are then carried to future generations. While it’s impossible to be the perfect dad, the role and influence of fathers are far-reaching and important in our lives, no matter what our age. It is such a pleasure to watch my sons, James and Josh, be amazing fathers to their children, as well as my son-in-law, Shad.

Thank you to all of our dads for serving your families and imparting critical values to the next generation! Happy Father's Day!

CHIP SEALING HELPS EXTEND THE LIFE OF GOOD ROADS BY 5-7 YEARS

There are 23 road sections that will be chip sealed. Subdivisions will be chip-sealed last. A complete list of all the roads to be chip sealed can be viewed on our website, along with a map of affected areas. When all of the scheduled roads are chip sealed, crews will proceed to fog seal and then finally to re-stripe the roads.

June is Elder Abuse Prevention Month

The City of Nampa and Nampa Family Justice Center join communities around the world to promote National Elder Abuse Awareness Month in June

This year, in addition to a variety of social media posts with information, stories, and resources on elder abuse awareness, the Nampa Family Justice Center will be holding an inaugural walk. On Friday, June 24, the community is invited to participate in a one-half mile walk called “Lean on Me” where together we can prevent elder abuse.

The walk will start at 1 p.m. at the Nampa Family Justice Center, located at 1305 3rd St. S., and walk to the Nampa Public Library where there will be live music from “The Misfit Army”, resource booths and ice cream! Participants will also hear from Nampa Family Justice Center Elder Program Coordinator Alyssa Groen and the Nampa Police Department.
