(January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968)


Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a minister and scholar who was a leader in the civil rights movement against racial segregation

during the 1950s & 60s.


We honor the legacy of MLK, Jr. and continue to work resolutely towards ensuring that every child, regardless of socio-economic status, background, or circumstance, has equity and access to quality

music education, in school.


Did You Know...

MLK, Jr. received a Nobel Peace Prize when he was 35 years old, then the youngest award recipient.

MLK, Jr. was inspired by Mahatma Ghandi's peaceful and non-violent protests.

His speech "I Have A Dream" emphasized the importance of peace, equality, and freedom.
