"Teaching is a calling too. And I've always thought that teachers in their way are holy - angels leading their flocks out of the darkness."

Honor Our Educators; Help Us Raise $42,000 for Public School Teachers

The Education Fund's Teach-A-Thon volunteers have headed into classrooms throughout Miami-Dade County to teach students in elementary, middle and high schools.

As part of the Teach-A-Thon training, volunteers learn to value the role of a public school teacher.

They also raise money for teachers, students and schools, with the proceeds funding school supplies, field trips and other classroom activities.

Over the last eight years, the Teach-A-Thon has raised more than $340,000 for local schools.

Teach-A-Thon Fundraising Goal: $42,000
Raised So Far: $16,046
