Welcome to the Loara Saxons Alumni Association e-newsletter! 
Dear Saxons,

The Loara Saxons Alumni Association, Inc., needs your help! It seems that some of you that have joined the Association have not renewed your membership. Dues are annual and necessary to help us, and you, to give back to our alma mater. It is only $20.00 per year and it helps us to do so much for current and future students at Loara as well as preserve our rich history. And, it is tax deductible!! Please send those checks in now or visit www.saxonalumni.com and you can renew with a credit card.

So, what are we doing with your dues?? Last year we donated to the band trip to Washington DC, we donated to help with a batting cage for the ladies softball team, we donated cash and some other items to the Winter Wishes program. We donated a new laptop computer to the Winter Wishes program. We held two contests involving students, bookmark design and Sammy Cash design. The winners received cash prizes and the top winner in each contest received a new laptop. For this year we have 5 laptops to give away and we will be participating in the Winter Wishes again. 

But, we cannot do these things without your help. Please renew your membership now. Every little bit helps!

We have some fun events coming up. I hope to see you at one of them. And, of course, we have our monthly breakfast 2nd Saturday of each month at Marie Callendar's on Euclid in Anaheim.

Upcoming Events
Your Alumni Association is creating fun, creative ways to keep you involved and active.  We have several fun events planned and we hope you will join us for one or more of them. 

BOWLING - The Linbrook bowling event was so fun we have decided to do it again.  Join us on October 8th as we take a trip back in time at Linbrook Bowl for an afternoon of fun!    Click here to purchase your $15 ticket.  Your $15 gets you 2 hours of bowling and shoe rental.  We look forward to seeing you at 1:30pm for food and drinks in the Kopa Room.  Bowling begins at 2pm !



 
HOMECOMING - Join us Thursday, October 13th for the Loara High School Homecoming Football Game.  Kick off is at 7:15pm at Glover Stadium but come early and stop by the Alumni table.  We would love to see you and hear what you have been doing.  After the game we will be enjoying pizza at Mamma Cozza's.  Go Saxons!

Union Bank Branch Comes to Loara High School
Loara High School has been selected as the first high school in Orange County to have a Union Bank branch on campus as part of a special program created by Union Bank to provide students with financial education. Loara High School is the fourth high school in California to have a Union Bank branch on-campus. The Loara Branch, which opened in December of 2015, shares the Library Building in the center of the campus.

Alumni Holiday Party
Join us on December 10th at 12pm for the 3rd Annual Saxon Alumni Holiday Party!  Carolina's Italian Restaurant, owned by Tim Ibraham, Class of 1999, will be this years venue.

Don't forget to wear your Santa hat, elf ears, or reindeer antlers! We will also have a white elephant gift exchange (Optional). Gift should be no more than $10.00.   
Amazing door prizes will be available by purchasing door prize tickets (must be present to win).
            Door prize tickets - $1 for 1 ticket or $5 for 6 tickets.
   
Selection of one entrée per person:
Fettuccine Alfredo (with or without Chicken)
Spaghetti and Meatballs
Ravioli (Beef or Cheese)
Beef Lasagna
Baked Ziti
All entrees include: salad, garlic bread, drink (soft drink, iced tea, or coffee), tax and gratuity. Appetizers, beer, wine, and dessert are an additional cost to the guest.

(Note: a portion of your lunch fee is a donation to the Loara Saxons Alumni Association, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit.)
