Final 'Reimagining Church' Plenary Session at Yale
Members of Holy Trinity's Reimagining Church team attended the fourth and final plenary session of the program at the Yale Divinity School (YDS) last Saturday. Holy Trinity is one of five local parishes participating this year in this program "to consider their present ministry, the needs for vital churches in a post-pandemic world and the options that are before them for envisioning new directions in ministry." Our team members have concluded that its work is not done and will be looking at ways to better utilize church space and to strengthen ties to the community.

Sermon: A Time to Bear Fruit
The Rev. Cecil Tengatenga
|
From the Rev. Tengatenga's sermon last Sunday:
"Philip, we are told, is one of those disciples who, unlike the rest, seized on the opportunity of the moment after the resurrection and took action. This is Philip, who had yielded in submission to Christ when Jesus said,"Follow me!" without much hesitation. He takes the Great Commission seriously. While the other apostles are in a commune of sorts. Philips breaks rank and is steeped in the work of evangelism. That is why he is commemorated as Philip, the Evangelist." More...

The altar guild has a special role as the priest's liturgical partner by making the worship life of the parish run smoothly. If you feel called to this important ministry, contact Judy McMillan.

Caring Casseroles
A loving way to reach out to someone in need is to cook for them. Those of us who have experienced grief, perhaps due to the death of a loved one, or great joy, as in the birth of a child, know how all-encompassing those emotions can be. The last thing on our minds is cooking meals - or even shopping for them. That's where LotsaHelpingHands comes in. We can sign up to cook and deliver a meal for anyone who might need it. Sign up at the web site here.
