Third

Sunday

after

Pentecost

June 9, 2024

Dear Church Family,

I pray that this note finds you doing well. I am writing to share some exciting news. This summer we will be blessed with a summer intern. His name is Jeremiah Short, and he is in his final year at Beeson Divinity School.

He and his wife Mici (pronounced Mickey) were married just last Friday. After their honeymoon they will be doing ministry in London, England for two weeks as part of Jeremiah’s Master of Divinity program.

They will be joining us June 20 through August 20 and will be staying in our Glendale House. Jeremiah loves theology, apologetics, Doctor Who, and using YouTube as a venue for evangelism.

This news is exciting to me as I have wanted to create a summer intern program to help give experience to future Anglican priests. Bishop Alex was aware of this desire, and he reached out to me a few weeks ago about this opportunity. After interviewing Jeremiah personally, and with a smaller group of the vestry, I recommended to the vestry that we hire him as our first summer intern, and they approved.

The timing could not be better as we are launching our second service and Alpha this Sunday, June 2. It will be a blessing to have Jeremiah’s help during this eventful summer season.

Please keep Jeremiah, Mici, and our entire church family in your prayers. My hope is that we will be a great blessing to them both and that we in turn will be blessed by them.

God bless you all,

Father Matt
