Just back from 10 days from my break on a tiny verdant island of Leros (no, me neither) in the middle of the azure Aegean sea here I share the wisdom that comes from creative loafing and why doing nothing is the new action holiday.
🌞 You start to notice what your body is saying. Even pain has a lesson for us to learn from.
🌞 When the noise calms down you start to hear the whispers of what you really want from life.
🌞 If you are in dread horror of returning this is your call to arms to look at what isn’t working and what needs changing
🌞 Everything is impermanent. The tides come in and they go out again. The sun rises, the stars sparkle; they are always up there. It has a way of putting life in perspective.
🌞 Sauntering becomes a meditative practice. Walking slower, taking in the surroundings one step at a time, noticing sounds (a donkey braying, a cockerel boasting, birds singing, distant cat fight) and allowing the need for urgency over take you. What is the rush anyway? Now? Ever?
🌞 Vitamin Sea as cure all. Allow the ocean to be your DPS and to carry away that which is not serving you. I also made a wish when we had the Taurus moon waded into the surf and sent it out into the ripples of sea that covers the planet; my emissary. Allowing trust and letting go of the need for control and certainty.
🌞 Trusting that we are going through a moment of time. Anything can change. There are infinite possibilities.
🌞 Notice what you cup is full of. Gratitude, resentment, anxiety, benevolence. What would spill over if you toppled it? Anger and frustration or peace and calm? What are you holding in your cup?
🌞 As much as you may fret and fuss over the shape of your body no one cares and it may be time to make peace with the beautiful and marvellous vessel that has carried you through your life. Wear a sunscreen but drop comparing.
🌞 Oh and last but not least, one margarita is never enough.
Thank you for indulging my holiday snaps. What do you learn from your holidays?
