Just a reminder that the Secretary of State is not sending out notices in the mail regarding expiring license plates.  Many expired on Dec.1.  

Paperless License Plates Renewal Notices is the convenient and secure way for Illinois motorists to go green and receive their notice by e-mail. To receive your license plates renewal by e-mail, enter your Registration ID and PIN located on the Renewal Notice you received in the mail or your current registration card. If you do not have a renewal notice or a current registration card, please call the Public Inquiry Division at 800-252-8980 to obtain your Registration ID and PIN number.

Utility Assistance Programs
Congressman Dold Coming to Fremont Township
U. S. Congressman, Bob Dold, is coming to our community room at the Fremont Township Administrative Building on December 15 at 10 am..
He will brief us on what's happening in Washington D.C. and address questions received at his legislative office on social security, medicare, health and long term care programs, as well as resources of interest to seniors. Do you have questions for him? Come and ask them and share your concerns face to face with the Congressman on all federal issues.

Annual permits for Forest Preserve Dog Parks, Horse Trail Use, Model Aircraft Field, and more go on sale Tuesday, December 1. Click here

Snowmobile Safety Class Certification and Exam
Passing the written exam at the end of the class allows youth ages 12 to 16 to operate a snowmobile on their own.

Use the trails after dark
With small solar lights to guide the way, hikers, skiers and snowshoers can get some brisk evening exercise along the 1.3-mile fitness trail at  Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville, and along a 1.65-mile hilly section of the Millennium Trail adjacent to the  Winter Sports Area at Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda.  Though regular preserve hours are 6:30 am to sunset, starting Sunday, November 1, the illuminated trails and adjacent parking lots will remain open after sunset until 9 pm, daily, through Sunday, March 13, 2016. Bicycle and equestrian traffic is not permitted on the lighted trails after sunset. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed. Click here

Land Purchase in Fremont Township
The Lake County Forest Preserve Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of approximately 337 acres in Fremont Township, known as the Cuneo property, for approximately $10,461,491. The new land buy is an addition to  Ray Lake Forest Preserve , increasing its total acreage to 894.   Click here for more information

Help Sort Food

If you are available Friday, December 4 at 10 am, we would love to have you help us sort the food from the donations from our community. Just come to Fremont Township, 22385 Route 60, around back in the lower level.
Food Pantry Needs
Many of you ask what you can do to help.  Our food pantry is in need of toiletries and cleaning supplies. 
Adopt a Senior
As of right now, our families are all adopted, but we still have seniors available. If you would like to participate in our adopt a senior program for Christmas, we need to have the gift bags in our office by December 18 at 3:00 pm. Questions? Call Nancy at 847 223-2847 at Fremont Township.
Coat Drive for Residents in Need 
We are accepting coats that will be given to local residents in need.  If you have coats the kids have outgrown or no longer need, we are happy to accept them. 
We are especially in need of coats for children.  You can drop them at our office or at Jays Quick Pick at Midlothian and 176.

Hawthorn Woods Tree Lighting December 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm .
                  
The Tree lighting in Mundelein is December 4 at Kracklauer Park at 5:30 pm.
Remember the Mundelein Police Academy Alumni 7th Annual Fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner is from 5:30-8:00 at the Police Department! Tickets are $8 for adults and $ for children.  4 and under are free!

Fremont Holiday Boutique at Fremont Intermediate School is Saturday, December 5th from 9:00 am til 3:00 pm.

Mundelein Fire Department Community Blood Drive
December 5, 2015 from 9:00 - 3:00 p.m.
1000 N. Midlothian Drive Mundelein
Donate and receive a "pint for a pint" from Culvers and also be entered into a special raffle for an autographed Blackhawks item (come see what it is!!) and gift certificates to local restaurants in Mundelein.

Recycle Sheets, Blankets, Towels, for the Dogs
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.  

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.  If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.
