Amy Pinney

Dear Hilltop Elementary Families,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! As we begin this new journey together, I want to express how excited I am to meet all the new families and students in our Hilltop community. This is always a special time of year, filled with excitement and anticipation. I hope everyone is feeling just as eager as we are to get started.

At Hilltop Elementary, we are committed to creating a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive. This year, our goal is to create experiences for our students aimed at fostering a love of learning and ensuring that each child reaches their full potential.

We had an exceptional first week. It was great to see all the smiling faces in all our classrooms! We had our first House meeting on Friday to kick off our school year.

I look forward to working closely with you to make this school year a memorable and successful one for all.

Warm regards,

Amy Pinney

PICK UP

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, please take a moment to review our updated arrival and dismissal procedures. If your child is a car rider, please be aware that access to the parking lot will be restricted until all buses have finished loading or unloading. To speed up your child's arrival and departure, you might consider having them ride the bus instead. If you are picking up your child from school, please arrive at the parking lot at 2:25 p.m. When coming through the car line, please remember the following things:

  • Adults need to stay in the car and place your child on the passenger side. If the adult gets out, it is holding up the entire line.
  • Please pull up as far as you can to be sure we can load/unload cars as quickly as possible.
  • Please drive slowly to ensure our children are safely getting into their cars.
  • Please don’t be on your cell phone while being in the car lane.

Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated as we navigate the ongoing construction at Hilltop Elementary. Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and safe transition for all students!

Communicating Transportation to Homeroom Teachers

During the first week of school, please let us know how your child will typically be getting to and from school—whether by bus, car, or as a walker/bike rider—so we can ensure they are prepared for these daily transitions. We understand that transportation plans may occasionally change. If your child will be going home a different way on any given day, please inform their teacher as soon as possible to keep them in the loop.

Meeting Your Child’s Teacher

If you'd like to discuss anything with your child's teacher, please reach out via email or voicemail to arrange a convenient meeting time. To ensure that instructional time remains uninterrupted, we kindly ask that families do not visit the school for meetings during the school day. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

Early Dismissal for Your Child

If you need to pick up your child early from school or if their transportation plans change, please call the school before 12:30 p.m. so we can prepare our students and staff accordingly. We understand that sometimes circumstances may require you to call after 12:30 p.m., but we would greatly appreciate it if you could notify us as early as possible.
