PTSO 2024-25 Membership Form (No Donation Required)

What's Happening at Hillsdale

Happy Friday, Knights Families!

Again, we'd like to extend our deepest thank you for the support we've been receiving this year--and it's just gotten started! We are still breaking membership records--we have numbers that are higher than they've been since pre-COVID. We are so excited to work with everyone this year--whether you are volunteering, donating, or just offering support. It's not too late if you haven't signed up, PTSO Membership 2024-2025. We are updating our lists weekly.

This was another busy week, our Week of Welcome. Thanks to our ASB/Leadership for organizing an Olympic themed week. We had spirit dress days each day, ending today, as each grade will compete for the coveted spirit points during the first Spirit Rally of the 2024-2025 school year!! We look forward to hearing about the competition, as well as the performances from cheer and dance!

Speaking of competition, tomorrow is the last day to help support the HHS Foundation's challenge/goal of raising $35,000! Did you know that your Foundation Donation not only helps support all booster organizations (PTSO, athletics, dance, drama, music, Peace Pantry) but they also support our teachers and staff (smaller class sizes, professional development/training, advisory, and so much more) Click here, or scroll down for more information Donation Challenge

Can't talk competition without mentioning our Battle of the Bay, girls Water Polo Tournament that is happening at HHS this Saturday! This is an inaugural year for this event--you don't want to miss out!! A concessions stand will offer a variety of snacks, pizza, and drinks. Admission is $5 per person, and students enter free with their ID. A portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to Bring Change to Mind, a local mental health organization. See flyer below for more details.

Another local organization, our HHS Community Closet will be having a Fall donation drive--donate your gently used HHS gear, men's jeans, and essential items. Fall into the spirit of giving by giving your spirit wear to others. See flyers below for donation locations.

There are also links below (keep scrolling after our blurb) to PURCHASE NEW SPIRIT WEAR, including an amazing Pink jacket for Breast Cancer Awareness, as well as the traditional athletic booster jacket, and athletic wear.

Scroll further for: SMUHSD Career Expo (for students to learn about careers, programs); California Scholarship Federation information, this week's Athletics Contests and Bell Schedule; Senior Class fundraiser save the date; Peace Pantry/Community Closet dates to volunteer/support

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your 3 day weekend (reminder, there will be no school on Monday--however, check with your athlete's coach to see if practice will still be taking place)

HHS PTSO Co-Presidents

A note from Lead Principal Jeff Gilbert

I have so enjoyed coming back to school this year, in part because of the remarkable transformation of our school over the past decade. Our campus feels so bright, warm and welcoming, with wonderful colors and open spaces for students to enjoy (thank you to everyone who voted "yes" on the bond measure that has allowed for the facilities upgrade!).

The changes in the campus remind me of the changes I have seen in the educational experience of our students in my time (25 years!) at Hillsdale. The sense of community and the power of the relationships that we see in our Smaller Learning Communities (SLC) is the reward for the hours we have spent reshaping this comprehensive school.

We wouldn't have these special SLCs without the Foundation and your support. Thank you for allowing us to do our work.

Double your Impact! The Foundation board will match all donations up to $35,000 until tomorrow, August 31st. Make your tax deductible gift today.

Every dollar counts towards our $600,000 goal. Hillsdale is stronger together!

Hello Hillsdale High School Community,

You are invited to our inaugural Battle of the Bay Girls Water Polo tournament on Saturday, September 7th, from 8am to 5pm at the Hillsdale High School swimming pool. The Girls’ Varsity Water Polo team will be facing off against five Bay Area teams, including Aragon, Carlmont, Gunn, Half Moon Bay, and Saratoga.

The girls have collaborated with Hillsdale’s athletic director, James Madison, and the Hillsdale girls’ water polo coach, Jina Button, to organize this tournament. They recognized the importance of hosting a girls water polo competition in our area to promote the sport through friendly matches and to foster a sense of community.

A portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to Bring Change to Mind, a local mental health organization.

During the event, a concessions stand will offer a variety of snacks, pizza, and drinks. Admission is $5 per person, and students enter free with their ID.

If you have any questions please reach out to Girls Water Polo Parent Liaisons - Gabby Vieira sfgabriela71@gmail.com or Lindsay Okamoto calinds@gmail.com
