2017 is off to a strong start as our strategic acquisitions have expanded our talent, further bolstering our existing operations in key markets. Five new agencies have joined our company so far including Charlotte Insurance in North Carolina, Keough Kirby & Associates in Rhode Island, Sapers & Wallack in Massachusetts, American Trucking Insurance Exchange in New Jersey, and Charles Allen & Associates in North Carolina. Our focus on organic growth is paying off with Q1 Organic Growth up 2.0% from the prior year. We can all expect further investments in organic growth for the rest of 2017 and beyond.
With this growth, our business mix has changed to approximately 70% Property & Casualty and 30% Employee Benefits. We currently have over 600 employees across the country dedicated to building a better national brokerage and we should all take great pride in what we are accomplishing together. Momentum is continuing to build as our agencies are coming together to win business and support each other in their growth.
We are excited to announce that the Hilb Group’s annual 401(k) match has been made, through Transamerica, for 2016. We’ve been committed to making this contribution annually as another way to reward our employees for the Hilb Group's growth. This is a fantastic benefit for our firm and I encourage all employees to take advantage of our 401(k) plan.
We are well ahead of both our acquisition and our organic growth pace from this time last year and we are looking forward to another successful year. Finally, as always, our appreciation goes out to all of you, without whom the Hilb Group would not exist. We appreciate all you do every day to service our loyal customers and to win new ones.

Nicole Myers and Peggy Goins (Charleston, WV) fed almost 60 homeless women and children on April 26th at the YWCA of Charleston Sojourners shelter for homeless women and families. The YWCA has been a long time customer to Nicole. They've been serving Charleston families for over 100 years. The breakfast included sausage and egg casseroles, fruit salad and banana nut bread. Thanks to Candie Rader (Charleston, WV) for making the delicious bread.
