Grad Pin Ceremony

On Tuesday we gathered to celebrate our Sec V students’ time at Sacred Heart with our annual grad mass and AMASC Pin Ceremony! Families were invited to honour the graduates at a full school mass, and their younger siblings at the school even had the chance to read out a special letter after the mass. Finally, chosen alums gave each student their pin and welcomed them into the broader Sacred Heart alum network as part of the pin ceremony - including honorary SHSM alum Mr. O’Donnell, who even got a pin of his own!

We love to celebrate these kinds of connections, whether familial, friendships, or a faculty alum who meant something special to that student.

A very special congratulations to the class of 2023!

Native Women's Shelter Foundation

1 more week to donate

The Sacred Heart Alumnae Association is collecting items for the Native Women's Shelter. If each student just brought ONE item- it would make a world of difference to them.

The collection boxes are located in 3 areas of the school: the Portry, the

Dr Penfield student entrance and the Study Hall.

The collection will end on Friday, June 2nd. We thank you for your contribution!

Congratulations Ms. Harrison!

Not all schools are lucky enough to have a professional librarian, but Sacred Heart is! Ms. Joan Harrison gives so much love and care to our library through curating books and online services, promoting reading through fun activities, heading our Battle of the Books team, and so much more. This year, the Quebec Library Association has also recognized Ms. Harrison's incredible work and has honoured her with the prestigious Anne Galler Award for Outstanding Library Service, recognizing her as an individual who has enriched librarianship in Quebec and has made a lasting contribution to the profession. We couldn't imagine anyone more deserving! Congratulations, Ms. Harrison!

Reminder to

Return your Books!

It’s that time of year again! Book collection will take place in the Music Room all day every Friday starting June 2nd, and books that cannot be dropped off on Fridays can be taken to the Library during library hours. Please remind your children to return their books before June 23, as any books missing by that date will be considered lost and you will be billed to replace them.

Exposition Scientifique

Nos élèves de secondaire I et II ont travaillé fort tout au long de l'année pour tester leurs propres hypothèses et collecter leurs données, et tout cela a culminé hier et aujourd'hui avec l'exposition de leurs projets de fin d'année. Après que leurs projets ont été évalués par leurs enseignant·es, les élèves ont eu l'occasion de se faire évaluer par leurs pairs pendant l’expo! De plus, des professeur·es et des élèves d'autres classes ont également visité l’expo et ont eu la chance d’apprendre quelque chose de nouveau grâce à une grande variété d'expériences différentes. Félicitations aux élèves de secondaire I et II pour leur excellent travail et leur curiosité scientifique!

Feast of Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat

This week was the Feast of Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, celebrating her life and mission as the founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart. In her memory, we held a full school assembly to honour her legacy and highlighted examples of her giving spirit living on through our students’ community service. Many students from Secondary II to V had their contributions honoured, all showcasing the truth in what St. Madeleine Sophie once said: “Your example, even more than your words, will be an eloquent lesson to the world.” Happy Feast Day to all the members of our Sacred Heart community!
