Project Spotlight

Nicolet High School Pilot Program

As any education team would know, knowledge is power. The staff at Nicolet High School harnessed this power to save thousands of dollars by participating in a Forward Space pilot program.



For the duration of a month, their staff and students tested two fully furnished classrooms with similar pieces of furniture to compare in a real life application. At the end of the month, they had made powerful discoveries in relation to what pieces did and didn't provide them value. One of these revelations resulted in saving their district thousands of dollars! Read more about it in our project gallery.

Earth-Friendly Spotlight

Illuminating Design

Flos Oplight is designer Jasper Morrison's take on a future-proof and eco-friendly wall sconce. Unlike other wall sconces, Oplight illuminates the whole room, not just a small section of it.

Assembled without glue, this light can be easily taken apart and recycled at the end of its use. The shell is built from easy-to-recycle die-cast aluminum, and its color comes from a powder coating to avoid having to use solvents typically found in the painting process.

Zen Scents

Global real estate firm Hines has introduced a signature scent to multiple of their offices. Many WFH employees know the positive affect lighting a scented candle can have on workflow, but a constant company-designated scent shooting through the HVAC system is definitely an interesting take on productive aromatherapy.



Science tells us that certain scents do actually have an effect on how we feel and act at work. A 2014 study found that the smell of jasmine resulted in 33% less typing errors, and the smell of lemon led to a whopping 54% fewer errors.
