It took a bit longer than anticipated to get the necessary permits, but we are making up for lost time! The demolition and framing are complete, and our electrical and alarm system contractors will be onsite this week. There's a lot more to be done, but we are getting there.

Over the summer, dedicated volunteers Jill Immerman and Bob Espinosa have been handing out children's books kindly donated by the Friends of Danbury Library. We are excited to continue this commitment to reading and book ownership by welcoming the Read To Grow Bookmobile during our September 27 distribution. The Bookmobile provides a magical space where children (especially pre-schoolers) can select their own books - donated by folks just like you!

Two of our amazing volunteer coordinators are hanging up their boots. Elizabeth Day and Anne Gilson are very generously stepping aside to let others have a go at this much-coveted role. The Labor Day holiday means we will not get a Food Bank delivery for our September 3 distribution. And anyway, volunteers need a break too! Thank you for everything you do.
