Don Pierce named Plans Examiner of the Year

Don Pierce, Plans Examiner II in Washington County Land Use & Transportation Building Services, was named Plans Examiner of the Year by the Oregon Building Officials Association (OBOA).


Pierce was nominated for his exceptional code knowledge, quality of work as the lead plans examiner for the Nike campus building activity and his positive interaction with customers and peers. The award was presented during the 2022 OBOA Annual Business Meeting & Professional Development Workshop in July.


Pierce is the fourth member of Building Services to be honored by OBOA in recent years. OBOA represents building officials and building code professional throughout Oregon.

Help select street projects to improve travel throughout Washington County. Visit the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP) online open house to learn which projects are proposed for the 2023-2028 funding cycle.


The cost of the proposed projects is much higher than the $160 million available. Help the Washington County Board of Commissioners trim the project list to make the best use of your MSTIP dollars. Select up to three projects in each of the four Commissioner Districts. Tell Washington County which projects you think will most benefit our community! Visit the Transit Development Plan online open house and take the survey to help identify improvements to public transportation in rural Washington County and other areas not well served by bus routes. Visit the open house through Aug. 31.

Help our local government better understand community need by completing the Natural Hazard Mitigation Awareness Survey.


Your local governments are working together to update our Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan to help better prepare for possible natural hazards. Complete the survey by Sept. 30.
