  • Last FCA Baseball Camp of the summer at Whittier Christian High School was the best baseball camp of the summer! God was changing lives, the energy was high, and the group of boys I got to coach were phenomenal!
  • Enjoy this months Athlete Highlight where you will get to meet a fellow Shepherd that I got to play baseball with and serve with at camps together!
  • New advisor/sponsor at San Clemente HS and that is the head baseball coach Dave Gellatly!

Scripture of the Month

No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from the Father I have made known to you.

July Athlete Highlight

Luke Peterson

Pitcher @ Grand Canyon University from Colorado

Here's what Luke had to say about his experience with the Shepherd's this summer!

  • How did you see God grow you the most over the course of this summer?

"I saw myself grow immensely in my faith through our devotionals and days of camp. Getting to share the Gospel to these kids not only helped introduce the faith to them, but also helped me realize God's purpose and plan for my life. This summer I got to listen to other coach's testimonies and walks with Christ which also helped me grow close together. I look up to all these coaches, so getting to hear from them and ask questions was huge for me!"

  • What was your favorite memory with the Shepherd's this summer?

"My favorite memory of this summer had to have been the Baptism Beach Day with the Sheps. I made the decision to get baptized along with four others and the support I had was incredible. There is nobody else that I would want to get baptized around, and it was the first time of the summer where I realized I had another family. Afterwards it was a day full of beach volleyball, spike-ball, and great conversations."

Calling All Volunteers!

Volunteers are absolutely essential to the kind of ministry we do with FCA on our high school campuses! Not only do we want to give you an opportunity to serve on these high school campuses, we also want you to come and make a huge impact for God's kingdom through your service!

What does it look like to be a volunteer for FCA you may ask? It can look like serving food during our huddles to the kids, buying food for our huddles for the kids, picking up food for our huddles, or just being a light and witness to the kids!

Please contact me at my email ajuarez@fca.org or my phone number 949-421-9879 for more info if you or anyone else are feeling lead to serve at San Clemente, Aliso Niguel, Capo Valley, Laguna Hills, Laguna Beach, or Capo Valley Christian!

Prayer Requests:

  • For Luke, as he heads back to play baseball at GCU and wants to be involved/serve with FCA at his school!
  • That the transition into the new school year would go smoothly for me, my advisors, and my student leaders!
  • For coach Dave, as he steps up to be the new advisor at San Clemente HS and that God would use him in powerful and impactful ways!
  • That the Lord would continue to provide more financial support for me and the FCA ministry in South OC!
