HERO - IN CINEMAS ACROSS THE UK FROM OCTOBER 2019
The biopic ‘HERO’, inspired by the extraordinary life and times of Trinidadian war hero, Ulric Cross, received rave reviews when it was first screened in London in June 2019. It will hit cinemas across the country during Black History Month in October and as part of Remembrance celebrations in November.

The S.O.U.L. Fest also brings together leading thinkers from Britain’s diverse communities with an industry focussed Symposium and will screen shorts from emerging Black filmmaking talent. 
SOUL Film Fest is presented in partnership with SOUL Film, The British Blacklist, We Are Parable and The New Black Film Collective. 
PARTNER PROFILE
Hero salutes and celebrates the work of our partner The New Black Film Collective and its Managing Director Priscilla Igwe.

The New Black Film Collective is a network of film exhibitors, educators and programmers spread across the regions in the UK. As part of our range of services, we host screenings that matter to the local community featuring international and domestic films of black representation.

Priscilla Igwe has spent the last decade in film exhibition within the BAME sector. She is currently the Managing Director of TNBFC. She has diversified the organization into Production, Exhibition, Distribution, Education and PR. Since 2011, Priscilla has established a regular film club, an annual Black History Month programme and worked on the last 5 BFI Blockbuster seasons.

In 2015, TNBFC became the first BAME female-led organization to distribute a film in the UK with Dear White People. The focus for TNBFC is on building a circuit of commercial and community cinemas that will curate a diverse range of titles from the African diaspora.

Screenings are planned through October and November 2019 across the UK. From Feb 2020, HERO will begin its Tour of the US, the Caribbean and Africa!
