Board of County Commissioners | Resolutions from the 5/14 BOCC meeting

Family Abduction Awareness Day as May 25, 2024

This resolution states that every 40 seconds a child goes missing or is abducted in the United States and 90% of all missing children get taken by their parents or another family member.

A family abduction is often an act of frustration with the left-behind parent, the legal system, or their own situation in life, and has distinctive characteristics that include emotional and psychological trauma to the child and left-behind family.

Hernando County to be recognized as a "BLUE" County where we support all law enforcement (Back the Blue)

Our law enforcement officers keep our community and neighborhoods safe, enforcing our laws and responding in times of crisis.

Everyday, law enforcement officers put their lives in jeopardy to defend others and selflessly provide service. Hernando County will continue to express unwavering support for our law enforcement

At the Board of County Commission meeting on May 14, 2024, a Resolution was passed proclaiming the private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) Mid-Florida Community Services to change its name to You Thrive Florida.
