Philadelphia has historically had one of the lowest budgets for Parks and Recreation among cities across the country. The perpetually underfunded Department of Parks & Recreation lost $12.5 million in budget cuts in the last year. Mayor Jim Kenney's proposed 2022 budget restores some of this funding but still leaves the department millions short of pre-pandemic levels. Filadelfia ha tenido históricamente uno de los presupuestos más bajos para parques y recreaciones entre las ciudades de todo el país.
