  “Hope is a helium balloon.
It is a wish lantern set out into the dark sky of night.”

―  Sharon Weil

Hope. Say it one more time: Hope.

The dictionary defines hope as " a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen." What are you hoping for these days? My list is long. My list includes things I'm hoping for others, for my family, for myself. And the list just gets longer each day the world continues to shift and flex with every news story or inflammatory media post. But amidst change, I still find hope.

The verb of HOPE can be defined as "expect with confidence". Thanks, Google. You make it sound so simple. Expect with confidence!? How does one expect with confidence? You hold tight. You hold tight to our family and friends that ground you. You affirm yourselve by getting up each day and taking we what you learned the days before and apply it to the day ahead. You don't give up. You keep hoping and expecting with confidence.

The chamber has seen our share of loss and wins over the past few months. We do not stand unscathed by all that has happened. We continue to hope for all that is to come. We have immense hope for our community and our ability to thrive. We remain hopeful for what's left of the 2020 event season. We hope that our decisions and actions will be met with understanding and support. We hope you read this email. Ha. Just kidding.

We are beyond fortunate to have amazing partners and board members who have offered support and encouragement and offered wisdom to our staff and leadership in this season. We will continue to hope for great things for each of our partners and our community. We expect with confidence you'll do the same.
Keep smiling, keep sanitizing, and stay safe!
