Our Vision Statement:

We are a welcoming community FIRST UNITED in proclaiming FAITH in Jesus Christ, sharing HOPE for the future, and inspiring LOVE of our neighbors.

Time for Spring Clean-Up!

2024 Spring Clean-Up Day is coming this Saturday (5/11) from 8am until noon. Our Building & Grounds Ministry is calling for lots of volunteers of all ages to help come rain or shine. We've had great helpers in past years (see photos), so please stop by Saturday and help us get everything looking great for summer!

Have a Graduate?

Thank you to those who have already submitted their graduation information and pictures to Pastor Meggan. If you haven't yet for your graduate, please do so no later than Saturday, May 18th. All graduates will be recognized during worship the following morning and in Youth Group that evening for those who have attended all year. If your high school graduate will be present at worship for the recognition, please email Pastor Meggan at pastormeggan.fupc@gmail.com

May is Teacher Appreciation Month

That includes Sunday School Teachers, too! As we wrap up our classes for the year this month, we would like to thank all of our teachers and volunteers who made it possible to have classes for all ages this year. Thanks to Mark DeCleene, Pastors Luke and Meggan Farwell, Vicki Good, Ashton Macklem, Cori Marinan, Scott McPherson, Debbie Spiegel, & Patricia Welle! When you see these wonderful individuals, please say THANK YOU!!

Plans for Sunday

Join us for worship this Mother's Day (5/12) at 9am. This week's sermon is entitled "Night Vision" and it's based on Daniel 7:9-14 and Acts 1:1-11 (click for links). Learn how Jesus's Ascension and intercession bring light into our darkest moments.

Also this week, we'll welcome the Gideons to speak prior to our worship service. As our Legacy Project to celebrate First United's 175th Anniversary, the Session approved raising funds to purchase Bibles. Learn how you can share God's Word with others as we honor and celebrate First United's past, present, and future.

> This week our Joyful Noise group will be leading us in "God Is On the Move." Click title for a video link to help you become more familiar with it. Service recordings are available on our website and Facebook page about an hour after the service is completed (*find links at end).

Our Youth Sunday School is winding down for the program year. Pre K-12th graders only have two more Sundays. We'll have one more "normal" week, then end with food and fun outside (weather permitting) on the final Sunday. Per tradition, we'll wrap the Sunday before Memorial Day (5/19).

Adult Class

Make the most of our last Adult Sunday School class before the summer break! This week, we have a special treat for you - the film "John Calvin: His Life & Legacy." Don't miss out on this unique learning experience. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am in the Koinonia Lounge to wrap up our program year.

Youth Update

Join us this Sunday evening (5/12) from 6-7:30pm downstairs in the Youth Media Room. It will be our last regular gathering before we wrap up our year the following Sunday (5/19) at our Annual Cookout from 5:30-7:30pm when we'll say goodbye to our seniors and welcome our incoming 6th graders.

Special Offering for Youth Support

The national Pentecost Special Offering unites Presbyterians in support of young people sharing their faith, ideas, and gifts with the Church and the world. For the next two Sundays, you'll find special envelopes at church so you can donate to support this helpful project. Watch for more information this Sunday.

The Sale has Begun!

May is the month for the next Presbyterian Women Used Book Sale. All month, you'll find the latest choices of hard cover (only $1) and paperback books (only 50¢) on all subjects. You'll also find some added games and puzzles left from the Rummage Sale (only $1). Help support the mission work of our Presbyterian Women.

We're Cooking Up Something Good

You've heard about our 175th Jubilee Recipe Book that we're compiling as part of our celebration. Thanks to many of you, we've received hundreds of recipes! However, some didn't include names. Here are the recipes we'd like to give credit for: Chocolate Cherry Cake, 6 Week Muffins, Sweet Jiffy Spoon Bread, Warm Apple & Pistachio Spinach Salad, Slow Cooker Butter Chicken, and Green Lentil "Gumbo" Soup. If you submitted any of these, please contact Jen Van de Hei or the office to get your name included with your recipe. Thanks!

A Potluck to Wrap Up Our Program Year

On Sunday (5/19), everyone's invited to bring a dish to share and gather for a Potluck right after church. We'll all come together in the Family Life Center after church, share some tasty treats, and send our young ones outside for a fun final day of Sunday School. Sounds like a great way to wrap up our program year before the Memorial Day weekend!

Double the Fun in One Night?

Were you on the fence about attending the Green Bay Blizzard Game & Terrian concert planned for Saturday (5/18) at 3:05pm at the Resch Center? If you now find yourself or your family is interested and able to attend, let Pastor Meggan know very soon. We have a few donated tickets waiting for someone to use them!

Get That Old Bike Out of the Garage

Our traditional Sunday afternoon Bike Rides are returning next month! Beginning June 2 at 4pm, anyone over 17 is invited to meet at a specific location for an hour of great exercise with church friends. Starting spots will rotate between, De Pere's Voyager Park, Green Isle Park, Green Bay East High School, and Mountain Bay Trail (Howard). Watch for more details as we roll closer to June!

It's Our 15th Year!

It's almost time to begin again. Our Judy Allan Memorial Garden will be returning for it's 15th summer on Thursday May 30 (weather permitting). We invite everyone to join us at 6pm to begin planting for another great season. Bring your gloves and shovel, and we'll provide the plants! In case you'd still like to help with financial donations, click HERE.

It's Your Teen's Serve

We've begun a new weekly event called Middle & Senior High Volleyball Time in our Family Life Center. All friends in that age group are invited to come by on Mondays anytime between 3 & 5pm to have some fun and enjoy some volleyball!

Join Plans This Summer

Plans are in the works for another great summer of Presbyterian Women "On the Go!" This year they'll be visiting historical sites in the area including Hazelwood Historical House, the Northland Hotel, and St. Francis Xavier Cathedral & Museum. The first trip will be on June 18, so be sure to watch for more details!

Live VBS Registration!

Come join us July 21 - July 25 for an amazing undersea adventure called "Scuba Diving into Friendship with God" where your kids will experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God! Click HERE (or visit our website) to register your kids to attend or to volunteer to help during the event. The first 15 families to register will receive a free copy of the music!

Our 175th Celebration Update!

>We're looking for volunteers to decorate our church float for the De Pere Memorial Day Parade. We'll be working on it at 2124 Trellis Drive (home of Kevin and Debbie Spiegel) on Wednesday (5/22) and Thursday (5/23) starting at 5:30pm. If you have any questions, call either Kevin (920-619-3151) or Debbie (920-606-3981).

> We'll also be needing lots of helpers on Monday (5/27) to help pass out candy and church information during that De Pere Memorial Day Parade. Again, you can contact Debbie or Kevin Spiegel if you can help or if you have questions.

> We continue to seek more church history treasures to share. We'd love to borrow any old church-related photos, documents, videos, or other special memories you have. We promise to be very careful, make copies, and return them safely.

*Contact Dawn Picard or Mark Young with any ideas, suggestions, or questions about our anniversary activities and plans!
