Ohio's Autism Scholarship amount has increased!

Milestones is happy to hear that Ohio’s new budget, signed by Governor DeWine this summer, includes an increase in the Autism Scholarship amount.

Currently, a qualifying student can access $27,000 in scholarship dollars under the Autism Scholarship. In October, that amount will climb to $31,500, and then to $32,455 in 2022.

The Jon Peterson Scholarship, the other disability-related scholarship in Ohio, will remain capped at $27,000 for students with autism. Students who qualify for the Jon Peterson Scholarship under other disability categories will see a small increase in their scholarship amounts.

Milestones' Nera Birch featured in LiveSpecial
Check out the latest issue of LiveSpecial Magazine, which includes a great article by Milestones Self-Advocate Nera Birch. Nera discusses the mantra, "nothing about us, without us," and how she's using her expertise as a self-advocate to educate others in Cleveland.

"We are at the forefront of the neurodiversity revolution. People with autism are making themselves heard. We are showing society that our neurodiversity is a positive, not a negative."
