Tanzie Daniels' Story

Balancing the complications of work and home life is a challenge for the very best of parents. Add in a developmental disability and the strain can reach new levels.

Tanzie Daniels is a successful mother of four. As the Chief Financial Officer of Goodwill

Industries in Cleveland, Tanzie embraces the local nonprofit community, and empowers others to rise up, even earning a spot in Cleveland Crain’s 40 Under 40 in 2020.

But that same year left her feeling powerless, as she noticed her then 3-year-old daughter, Trinity, wasn’t reaching developmental milestones.

“Our daughter wasn’t speaking,” Tanzie explains. “We were really at a loss for what to do.”

Disability Employment Awareness Month

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The Employment section of the Milestones Autism Planning (MAP) Tool features easy to navigate articles and resources to help with job planning, preparation, and placement. Check out some of our favorite articles:

September 15th through October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize the many contributions and rich culture of the American Latino community.

Congratulations to Milestones' Spanish Helpdesk Coordinator Michelle Mejia on becoming Northeast Ohio's first Latina certified Ambassador for Charting The LifeCourse (CTLC)!

CTLC is designed to support families to maximize their capacity, strengths, and unique abilities so they may achieve their goals.

As a CTLC Ambassador, Michelle will bring this framework into Northeast Ohio's hispanic communities and schools to improve outcomes.

An Evening with Dr. Ross Greene

Milestones is proud to sponsor An Evening with Dr. Ross Greene, presented by the Beachwood Neurodiversity Family Network and Beachwood City Schools.

Dr. Greene is a renowned child psychologist and New York Times best-selling author of “The Explosive Child” and “Lost at School.”

This event is FREE, but registration is required.

Milestones is excited to welcome Eira Yates, MSSA to the team as our new Vice President of Education and Services!

Eira has over 20 years of experience in healthcare and social services. She has collaborated with mental health departments across a variety of public and private local and state agencies and health departments, neighborhood centers and community resources to achieve solutions for families. Eira is a Family and Schools Together Trainer through the Children and Family First Council of Cleveland.

In this new role at Milestones, Eira will be supervising Education and Services, including Helpdesk and Autistic Supports. Visit the About Us page to read more about Eira.

We are also excited to welcome Kara Foote, M.Ed. to Milestones as our new Early Intervention/School Age Coordinator!

Kara has served children with disabilities and their families for nearly a decade in a variety of capacities as an Intervention Specialist, Case Manager, Autism Therapist and Advocate. In her role as the Early Intervention and School Age Coordinator, Kara serves the helpdesk as a support, coach, resource and guide for the autistic community.
